Sweet 16 Celebrated at ABGC:
One of our members was unable to celebrate her 16th birthday due to a loss of a parent. Her friends at the Club came together and planned a surprise Sweet 16 from start to finish! They picked the decorations, made sure we ordered her favorite food, and invited 25 of her closest friends! It was such a success! The teens formed a giant conga line, did the Cupid shuffle, a dance off, and so much more. Th e highlight of the night was when they all gathered in the middle of the room, wrapped their arms around each other, and sang "Lean on Me" at the top of their lungs.
Our kids' lives are not always easy, but they have the best of friends to help them along the way. We are so lucky to be able to provide a safe place for these teens to get together with their friends. Thanks to DJ Dee of   D&J Entertainment they were able to sing and dance the night away! Remember when you donate to the Arlington Boys & Girls Club you make nights like this possible. You are investing in the lives of our children. "Great futures ALWAYS start here."

D & D Adventures:
April 18 & 20
We will be making our 6th annual trek up to Lonesome Lake this upcoming April vacation on April 20th.  This trip has always been a D & D Adventure favorite, with additional stops at The Flume and The Gorge. Children will experience scenic views and breathtaking landscape.
We are also taking our 2nd annual trip to the Cape Cod Canal on April 18th.  We will be riding along the 20-mile bike trail.  Don't miss out on this fun trip! Children should have basic bike skills for this trip.
D & D Adventures are for kids ages 10 and up. There is still limited space available for both of these trips, don't miss out, sign up today!
GYM-Tastic!
New GOLF Program!
We have started a new Golf Program for ages 6-13.  It is a beginner class taught by Coach Chris. Children will practice their swing in the gym for the first 4 weeks and then move to the driving range at Stone Meadow in Lexington for the last 2 weeks of class. There are still a few spaces available in the 9-13 age group.  Don't miss out!

Basketball Success!

Once again this year, we had a full roster for our winter basketball season.  320 co-ed basketball players made up 32 teams and had a great season.  Spring Basketball is now underway, also with a full roster!

Thank You Coaches!
To all the coaches that volunteered their time this season, a BIG THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication, we couldn't have done it without you.
Swim Team:
The Dolphins celebrated a successful 2016-2017 swim season at their annual Awards Night & Splash Party on Saturday, March 4th! All 125 swimmers received certificates and the Most Improved, MVP, and Best Supporting swimmers were awarded in each age group. The most prestigious awards of the night, Rookie of The Year, Sportsmanship, and Coaches were awarded to Cate Berman, Walter Vincent, and Michael Pugliese respectively. Alessandro Drake was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Finally, graduating senior Richard McIsaac was recognized.  Richard will be attending UMass Dartmouth in the fall where he will be a member of their Division III swim team.

Arlington Family Connection
Annual Sizzlin' Winter Beach Party:
The Arlington Family Connection hosted their Annual Sizzlin' Winter Beach Party at the Club on March 5th. Approximately 200 children and their caregivers attended the event.  Children enjoyed balloon animals from Silly Willy the Clown, dancing and games with DJ Ed Regal, Zumba sponsored by H2K, pizza, ice cream, beach games, crafts, and a moon bounce. Children had the opportunity to observe and touch live local tidepool animals from the New England Aquarium Traveling Tidepool Program. Everyone had a great time!

The Arlington Boys & Girls Club is proud to partner with Arlington Family Connection to make this event a success year after year!
Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy and sunny Spring!
