2017 Retreat for Clergy, CREs & CEs
REMINDER NOTICE
  Registration deadline: May 1, 2017

Greetings,

With Easter only a few weeks away, you are probably not eager to add anything to your list of things to do. But I'd like to encourage you to take a moment to sign up for the upcoming Clergy, CRE, and CE Retreat. It should be an encouraging time to talk about a timely issue, have opportunities for silence and personal reflection, and spend time with colleagues in ministry. Here's the info about the event:

Healing Spiritual Wounds
Thursday, May 18th, noon-Friday, May 19th, noon
Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center, Marriottsville, Md

" I want people to discover a safe place where we can speak honestly about all the bitterness caused by the church...while finding a way to hold on to the sweetness and wholeness and healing the spiritual life can bring."

This is the way our retreat leader, the Rev. Carol Howard Merritt, describes the purpose of her book, Healing Spiritual Wounds; it also describes the purpose of our retreat. Merritt will help us explore ways we can extend grace to people in our communities and churches who have been hurt by churches that have not been places of grace and acceptance.

Merritt also recognizes that pastors and church leaders can be among those who are wounded, often by their own congregations. Part of the retreat will be devoted to addressing those issues as well.

To register, click RETREAT.   Registration deadline is MAY 1, 2017.
