Southern Association of Independent Schools Reaccreditation
Dear Prince Families:

This week we completed the final chapter in an eighteen month process for reaccreditation, a process schools undertake to demonstrate they are meeting specific educational criteria and performance standards. Our journey started in the summer of 2015 as we sought to pursue accreditation by the most rigorous of accrediting agencies, the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS). I am pleased to report that our reaccreditation process is now complete, and the team from SAIS has recommended us for reaccreditation!

This is our first accreditation by SAIS and a significant milestone in our school’s 38 year history; we are only one of two Christian schools in the entire southeast, and the only Christian school in the greater Athens Area, accredited by SAIS, the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Staffed with five seasoned administrators that included two heads of school, the SAIS reaccreditation team awarded 20 commendations for noteworthy programs – a high number. Highlighted in their exit report was our unique ability to provide a Christ centered school that balanced all four components in our mission statement: spiritual discipleship, academics, fine arts, and athletics.

There were many members of our school community that participated in this process over the past 18 months. This week alone, the SAIS team met with our board of trustees, each member of our administrative leadership team, teachers, parents, and students. All totaled, 136 documents and reports relating to our spiritual, academic, cocurricular, business office, admissions, development, and facilities programs were examined in detail.

The real credit goes to our school’s faculty and staff whether they work in a classroom, gym, office, cafeteria, or our buildings/grounds, who produce exceptional programs that create the synergy needed to achieve an accreditation of this level. I am very proud of them for achieving a professional standard many aspire to but only a select few achieve! I would be remiss if I did not extend a special thanks to Dean Eley as our reaccreditation coordinator for his superb attention to detail and diligence throughout this process in addition to Mrs. Ginger Robinson for her dedicated and efficient administrative support.

But all this would not be possible without supportive families like yours who choose a school that honors Christ and seeks continuous self-improvement demonstrated by achieving goals of this magnitude. Christian schools are needed more today than ever in our nation’s history, and I want to commend you as parents for investing in a school that is intentional in maintaining a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe place where God’s presence is welcomed in our classrooms, hallways, and playing fields.

I pray your spring break provides you time to enjoy your children as we prepare for the final weeks of the academic calendar. Thank you for your continued partnership, and to God be the glory.

Warm regards and in His service,
Col Seth Hathaway
