Our Vision Statement

Old North Church is an inclusive Christian Community called to bring to life God's love and grace by sharing the gospel for this time and place; extending the hospitality Christ showed; embodying God's love and compassion to those in need; and growing together in our understanding and experience of the Holy Spirit at work in our midst.

Join Us at the Children's Church

"Lenten Table"

Last Sunday many gathered around our "Lenten Table" during Coffee Hour to create origami under Chris Arren's instruction.  We will continue to offer projects during Lent that can be added to your Lenten Practice.
Next Projects:
4/2- Prayer beads  4/9-Palm crosses
We look forward to seeing you at the table!

Palm Arrangement Donors are Needed
If you would like to donate towards a Palm arrangement for Palm Sunday, April 9th, please contact Becky Parry at becky.parry@verizon.net or 781-631-8538, by Tuesday, April 4th.  The arrangements are more expensive than our usual Sunday flowers, so we are in need of two donors ($40 each) for each palm arrangement.

From the Flower Committee
We are providing envelopes in the pews this week and next for those who wish to order lilies for the April 16th Easter services. Plants are $21 this year and if ordering by check, please make it out to Old North Church and write "Easter plants" on the memo line. We ask that you plan to pick up your plant(s) following the 11:00 AM service on Easter morning.
Also, we are in need of donors for
Sunday, May 7,. Please contact Pat Flaherty at sedgwickpat@comcast.net or at 781-631-9100. Sanctuary flowers are $40 per bouquet.

Telling Our Stories: Old North's Lenten Supper Series
This week, Wednesday April 5:   Life Lessons:  We will take time to reflect on the biggest life learnings that we have received (maybe by accident? by colossal mistakes? humorous event? divine intervention) and what wisdom we might want to pass on to our children, grandchildren, friends, and the world.

Lenten Concert - Sunday April 9th
Our annual Lenten Concert is part of the observance of Holy Week at Old North Church, therefore we do not sell tickets or program ads; we think of this as a "musical reflection" and not a commercial undertaking. If you would like to help defray the production costs of our beautiful Michael Haydn Requiem project, you are cordially invited to submit a donation - in any amount- In Loving Memory or as a Sponsor. Donations are due no later than Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Please click here to view and print a donation form.

It's Our Turn to Stock the Food Pantry!
Twice annually, in April and November, the ONC Christian Service Committee collects food items for donation to the Marblehead Food Pantry. The Marblehead Food Pantry, housed in the Star of the Sea Community Center at 80 Atlantic Avenue, was founded in 1991 in response to the economic downturn at that time. It is a community pantry, supported by financial and food donations from Marblehead's schools, churches, synagogues, scout troops, businesses, organizations, and individuals. Food assistance is provided to anyone in need, as long as they can prove Marblehead residency. Your support of this food drive, in goods or financial donations, is greatly appreciated!

About ONC's Caring Ministry
Just over two years ago, thanks to the kindness of many of you in offering to help, we set up the Caring Ministry .  The purpose of the Ministry was to offer help to senior members of Old North who found themselves in a situation where their own family or friends were unavailable to assist them.   We received a good number of requests which we were delighted to honour.   The request flow seems to have dried out, however, so we are here to relaunch the Ministry. To all members of our wonderful ONC community, young and not so young, please reach out to us should you find yourself needing some urgent help.  Ways in which our team could assist you might include doctor visits, dog walks, company whilst home bound, shopping etc etc.  Our team is all CORI cleared and ready to help you get through a crisis.  Please contact either
Linda Duvel (781 631 1703) or Lynda Hare (781 639 0107) for further information.
