Tax Preparation Help - last chance
Good times don't last forever.  Neither is time you have to file your taxes.  Even though you have a couple of extra days to file this year, you will still need to file.
TaxAide is a joint service provided by AARP and the IRS. They will be doing FREE income tax preparation and filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, with special focus on senior citizens. Appointments are required! To make an appointment or get more information, please call the Loomis TaxAide Appointment line at 916-672-1182

Science Spectacular - Chemical Reactions (K-3)
Students explore reactions as they mix various materials together in the pop rocket experiment. To continue the fun, each student will create a lava lamp to take home to tame.

Tech Styles - Circuit Boards and Paper Circuits (4th-6th)
Students will continue their exploration of circuits by designing a maker circuit board and making their own paper circuit.

Have Your Cake and Eat it Too!
Join us for a talk about tooth decay and how to prevent it by our own Loomis Dentist, Dr. Junie Baldonado. Dr. Baldonado will cover :
  • How to enjoy sweets while minimizing cavity risk
  • Why we get cavities in the first place?
  • Good foods for your teeth
  • Other helpful tips, "supplements" to minimize cavity risk
  • The latest research about why dental health is so important - its impact on other diseases
  • How other diseases in your body can manifest in your mouth
This presentation is geared to all ages, parents, middle schoolers, high schoolers. If you have teeth, you can benefit from this program!

Loomis Basin Historical Society Presentation: Preserving Your Family Photos, Memorabilia & Heirlooms

Pictures of your childhood, the old baseball card collection, grandma's hand-sewn quilt-where are your family treasures and heirlooms? Are you keeping them safe, or are they fading and falling apart? Barbara Leak will explain safe, archival storage practices that will help preserve them for you and for future generations to enjoy.

As the world becomes more connected, criminals are becoming more sophisticated. You've heard stories about people's identities being stolen, their online accounts being hacked and even falling prey to telephone scammers.
This seminar will help you avoid being part of that story.
We will discuss what con artists are doing and what you can do to protect your family and yourself in this digital age.

Lend a Heart / Read to a Dog Program
Please join us the 4th Saturday each month when Lend a Heart bring their sweet, therapy-trained dogs to the library so kids can practice their reading skills and build confidence with a kind, furry friend. We're grateful to local dentist, Dr. Baldonado and his friend Peanut, for organizing this wonderful program!

Home Buying Process From Start to Finish
Join us for a free informative leaning experience and the process of buying a home in today's market. Professional industry experts will be speaking on the topics of your buyer needs, from finding a home, the importance of pre-approval, types of loans available, making an offer, disclosures, inspections and the escrow process. There will be valuable pamphlets and literature available to give you further guidance in your home search plus a question and answer session afterwards.

Get  your or your friends/family's technical questions answered by our Encore fellow, Eric.
