Dear Akiva Families and Students,
The grade 6-9 girls are starting a School Supply Gemach to help their fellow students.
What is a Gemach?
A Gemach is a nonprofit organization that lends things to other people. Such as books, tablecloths, strollers, wheelchairs, coat hangers etc.
What are we doing?
The grade 6-9 girls will be starting a School Supply Gemach. We will supply students with pens, pencils and other school supplies that will be listed on our poster.
Why are we doing this?
We have noticed that many students have been running low on school supplies that they need to complete their schoolwork, and often have to ask to borrow other people's supplies. We want to provide these unnamed students with a way of getting the supplies they need without having to ask other people.
Gemach Rules:
Sign out what you took
- Return the supplies in the condition that you received them in (Does not apply to lined paper)
- Put the supply you took back in the appropriate container
- Remember to sign the supply back in
*Please remember that is a service to you, so please take care of the items you take so that others can also benefit from it*
What can you do to help?
If you have any extra, gently used or new school supplies at home or at school (ask your parents before taking/giving), you can put them into a box at the office that will be labeled 'School Supply Gemach".
