Tutankhamun: "Wonderful Things" From The Pharaoh's Tomb at the Institute of Science
Travel back to the splendor of 18th dynasty Egypt and explore the greatest archaeological find of all time-the treasures of King Tut. Tutankhamun: "Wonderful Things" From the Pharaoh's Tomb reveals the spectacle of Tut as ruler, and the daily life of Tut as a human being through more than 120 meticulously created replicas of the pharaoh's possessions. This all-ages exhibition includes actual ancient Egyptian artifacts from the collections of Cranbrook Institute of Science and the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Tutankhamun: "Wonderful Things" From the Pharaoh's Tomb is proudly sponsored by PNC Bank and supported in part by 101.9FM WDET.
Summer Camp at the Institute of Science Offers Unique Experiences
Camp at Cranbrook Institute of Science takes campers beyond the traditional realms of summer camp for unique and memorable experiences. Know a child who is a sci-fi fan? Send them behind the scenes to create all those cool futuristic effects in sci-fi films. How about an urban exploration experience through the history of Detroit and a few day trips into the city? These and other experiences allow kids from Kindergarten through 9th Grade the use of the museum and Cranbrook's 319-acre campus as their summer laboratory of science fun. Weeklong camps include Before- and After-Care options. Put your camper on the path to discovery today.
Volunteer at the Institute of Science
Like history, science, and the natural world? Share your passion and help support the Institute's mission by volunteering. We are currently seeking volunteer Gallery Guides to staff the Tutankhamun: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh's Tomb exhibit. Gallery Guides enrich our visitors' experience with hands-on activities, spotlight tours, and information about the exhibit and related science topics. No background knowledge is needed. For more information please contact Janet Beylin at 248 645.3748, email cisvolunteer@cranbrook.edu, or explore online.
The Discovery Center Fosters a Love of Science
Every Sunday in the Family Discovery Center, children and families are encouraged to interact and explore the world we live in through hands on experiences. Microscopes, books, real x-rays, binoculars, international clothing and "discovery" boxes make learning exciting and fun. The Family Discovery Center is free with admission.
