Summer Classes for Kids:  Parents, if you're looking for summer activities for your kids, the Art Museum has plenty of classes scheduled. 
 
 
April Classes:

Monotype Printmaking with Jennifer Reitmeyer, 6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, April 6-May 11

Pottery I: Intro to Clay for adults 21 and older, 6-9 p.m. Mondays, April 10-June 12.
 
Pottery II: Intermediate Clay for adults 21 and older, 9 a.m.-noon or 6-9 p.m. Thursdays, April 13-June 15.
 
Glass Fusing for Kids with Sharon Owens at Inspired Fire, 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 12.
 
Beginning Glass Fusing or Flameworking for Youth and Adults age 14 and above with Sharon Owens at Inspired Fire, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 15.
 
Ongoing Classes that can be joined at anytime include Live Model Open Studio, Watercolors with Lorie Amick, Pastels with Ron Burgess, Yoga at the Museum with Debra Steinhauer.

New Artists 2017 | Through April 14. This is the 38th consecutive year that the Art Museum has hosted this juried exhibit of works by area high school students. The exhibit is organized by the Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa.

Adirondack Allure: Plein Air Paintings by Ron Burgess and Rick Wilson | Through June 4. Burgess and Wilson often paint outside together. Burgess is a Lafayette native who teaches at the Art Museum. Wilson is a native of Edinburgh, Indiana.

Art of the Endowment | Through June 4 | This exhibit focuses on the power of endowment and features permanent collection works purchased by the Art Museum with funds provided by the Connie F. and Richard E. Grace Endowment Fund.

   EVENTS
Gallery Talk Richard and Connie Grace will discuss The Art of the Endowment in a gallery talk at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the Weil Gallery. The Connie F. and Richard E. Grace Endowment Fund began in 1997. Through the endowment, the Art Museum has acquired over 40 works of art. Some of those pieces comprise the current Art of the Endowment  exhibit at the museum. The gallery talk is free and open to the public.  

Friday Night Live! |  April's Friday Night Live will be Acoustic Reflections, featuring music by Fergus Daly, a singer, songwriter and guitarist, and Jesse Danner, a guitarist. The performance will be from 7 to 8 p.m. April 28. Doors will open at 6 p.m., so come early to enjoy the exhibits in the museum galleries and check out the museum shop. Admission to Friday Night Live is free thanks to sponsors Jim and Sandy Bodenmiller and Purdue Federal Credit Union.

The Art League's Annual Luncheon, Fashion Show and Raffle will be held Saturday, April 8, at Four Points by Sheraton in West Lafayette. Shopping for goods provided by Heathcliff Boutique will begin at 9 a.m. The luncheon will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the fashion show. For more information and to buy tickets, go to

 
The Art League will hold a field trip at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, to Kimlien Tran's KL Art Gallery in Lafayette.

Upcoming  The 2nd Century Club's annual spring tour will take a look at the art and architecture of South Bend on June 21. Club members will join Museum Executive Director   K endall Smith and Sharon Theobald on this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour to the South Bend Museum of Art, Century Center and the University of Notre Dame Snite Museum of Art.  After a comfortable 55-passenger motor coach ride, lunch will at the Tippecanoe Place restaurant in the historic Studebaker Mansion. Then the group will join Executive Director Susan Visser for a tour of the South Bend Museum of Art in Century Center on the St. Joseph River. That will be f ollowed by a visit to the Snite Museum, led by Associate Director Anne Knoll. The group will depart at 9:30 a.m. and arrive back home at 6 p.m. Tickets are $65, including lunch and transportation and are available at

2nd Century Club members, who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Art Museum, are invited to an annual private behind-the-scenes art tour to another location; a club members-onl y annual dinner; private champagne exhibition previews and meetings with the artists; priority invitations to Art Museum special events and tours.
 
All Art Museum members  always get a 10% discount on studio art classes and purchases from the Museum Shop and the Columbian Park Zoo Gift Shop.
