EPA Delays Effective Date of Risk Management Program (RMP) Amendments; Further Delay Proposed
 
On March 16, 2017, the EPA issued a final rule providing a 90-day administrative stay for the effective date of the amendments to the Risk Management Plan (RMP) rule in response to a petition . This delays the effective date of the final rule until June 19, 2017.

However, on March 29, 2017, EPA's Administrator Scott Pruitt signed a proposed rule to further delay the effective date of the amendments. Read more

NIOSH Request for Information on Proposed Peracetic Acid IDLH Value   
 
NIOSH is seeking data and information through a request for information (RFI) published earlier this month to help the agency characterize and assess the health risk of occupational exposure to peracetic acid. Peracetic acid is a highly corrosive, highly reactive, and unstable organic peroxide-based compound commonly used for the disinfection of medical supplies and in food industries, particularly to prevent bio film in pulp industries. It can also be applied during water purification as a disinfectant.
