A vital community resource since 1966, Sound Mental Health (SMH) is a comprehensive provider of behavioral health services in King County with locations throughout the region, ensuring a stable and supportive community. SMH has three locations in the Capitol Hill area alone.
Sound Mental Health is a licensed mental health, certified chemical dependency agency and is accredited for its outpatient, case management and residential services and provides services to our community's most challenged and underserved populations. Last year, SMH served more than 20,000 men, women and children in Central, North, East and South King County.

Seattle is kicking off Pothole Palooza on Monday, April 17, a campaign to aggressively repair potholes across the city. Beginning today, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is asking community members to report neighborhood potholes so we can map them out as our Pothole Rangers move throughout the city.
There are three ways to report potholes:
During the campaign, SDOT crews will be assigned to specific districts around the city. SDOT Crews will be joined by crews from Seattle Parks and Recreation who will assist with these efforts.

Learn about the proposed Capitol Hill Business Improvement Area (BIA) Expansion at an upcoming Open House. Find out how the Capitol Hill BIA will raise funds to provide much-needed benefits directly to the neighborhood to get the big things done - and keep Capitol Hill unique!
There will be a short presentation and you will have a chance to ask questions and meet other supporters of the BIA expansion.
Who should attend?
Property owners, business owners and residents located within the boundaries of the Capitol Hill BIA. The Capitol Hill Business Improvement Area will cover areas surrounding Broadway, Pike/Pine, 12th Avenue East, 15th Avenue East, 19th Avenue East, Melrose Avenue and Olive & Denny Way.

Every Spring the Chamber partners with Seattle
Pridefest
to organize Clean Sweep, a Pride Month kick-off event that draws 300-400 volunteers from around the neighborhood. We provide all of the cleaning supplies and treat volunteers to a free lunch on the lawn. Registration opens early-May and is free and open to all. Kids are welcome!

Mayor Murray's Youth Empowerment Initiative
ARE YOU A SMALL BUSINESS LOOKING FOR AN INTERN?
Mayor Murray's Youth Employment Initiative (MYEI) connects Seattle youth with short term paid internships with local companies and organizations. This year, the MYEI is looking for more opportunities for youth to work in businesses closer to their homes and contribute to their communities while gaining valuable work experience. If organizations or small businesses can offer a meaningful experience for a youth, they can apply to receive an intern for free. The City handles payroll, background checks, and more, so the business can focus on the intern experience and work product.

deaffriendly is helping businesses get ready for the large influx of Deaf customers by providing "Deaf-Friendly Customer Service" training for dining establishments in Capitol Hill.
