April means:
Enjoying outdoor living rooms!

Who says that a deck has to be a standard color? This blue/gray deck with a touch of red around the windows is anything but ordinary! The homeowners wanted a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors but their existing deck was a quarter of the size of this one. With some creative freedom, our designers came up with this structural beauty that allows the family to now extend their family room to the outdoors.

April Gardening Tips:
  • Prune spring-flowering shrubs soon after they finish flowering, but only if they need it. Selectively cut old or unruly branches by reaching deeply into the shrub leaving no visible stub.
  • A good option for Loropetalums that have outgrown their space is to tree-form them. They can easily be limbed up by removing lower branches.

Don't just pursue a deck addition, make it an outdoor living room!
by Kelly Bekele

I'm sure many people can agree that spring and summer are the best times of the year. The only thing that could make them better is being able to spend more time comfortably in your own backyard.
3 things to consider when planning for an addition to your home
by Kelly Bekele

Statistics show that you can increase your home value by 65-90% by adding an addition to your home. Whether it be a deck, sun room, bathroom, or kitchen addition, be sure to consider these 3 things while planning.
Did you know that a deck addition is still one of the best ways to increase your home value? According to HGTV, increasing the amount of usable space in a home always equates to adding more value.
The Secret Garden at Knoxville Botanical Gardens

Visit our work in public! The Knoxville Botanical Gardens has a new addition to their gardens called The Secret Garden. We had the honor and pleasure of being able to help out with this touching project and we think it came out beautifully. The garden is designed in memory of Andie Ray who passed away in December of 2015. Andie loved to read and the novel "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett was one of her favorites. When you explore the magical area, be sure to bring a book you enjoy to contribute to the lending library!
Knoxville Botanical Garden is located at 2743 Wimpole Ave. Knoxville, TN 37914
