The 2017 Maryland General Assembly ended this past Monday. The Howard County Chamber was active and busy during the session covering, testifying and advocating for Howard County businesses. During the course of the session, the Chamber reported on a magnitude of bills ranging from Mandatory Paid Leave to Fair Scheduling to Tax Increment Financing.
The Chamber will be providing a detailed summary in the next several days on legislation it followed, which will be sure to come back in 2018. In the interim, interested persons may visit the Maryland Reporter for a detailed synopsis of passed and failed legislation.
The Chamber will also host its annual Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Columbia where it will have a substantive public policy conversation with business association leaders and Howard County Legislative Delegation members.
