Empowerment Scholarship Expansion

Dear Trinity Friends and Family,

As you may have heard, the Arizona Legislature passed landmark legislation last Friday and Governor Ducey signed it into law the same day.

This new law that some are calling the "voucher bill" addressed the Empowerment Scholarships (ESAs) which previously only applied to certain categories of students, and expands it to all students in the state of Arizona.  This expansion is phased in over the next 4 years, effectively providing even more opportunities for families to afford the school of their choice.

Attached here is the Fact Sheet about the bill from Center for Arizona Policy

Attached here is another fact sheet from the American Federation for Children

What does this mean for Trinity?

1)  These Empowerment Scholarships (ESAs) may be available this coming year for new students in Kindergarten or switching from an Arizona public or charter school enrolling in grades K, 1, 6, and 9.  There is a cap on the number of students for the state on a first come first served basis.

2)  Students who are currently attending Trinity will NOT be eligible to receive ESA funds.  However, there is more money than ever available through the Scholarship Tuition Organizations (STOs).  Our school family is now receiving over 1 million dollars a year in scholarship money through the Arizona State Tax Credit Scholarships.

3)  Students who receive ESA funds will not be eligible to receive STO funds and vice versa.  It is one or the other with ESA funds or STO funds but not both.

4)  We are seeing this as another blessing God has provided for our parents to empower all of us to choose the best school for our children.  Arizona is one of the best places for a private school in the nation and we intend to maintain our commitment to providing this incredible Christ-centered classical education to more families.

By God's amazing grace and through the tireless work of our state legislators and many others, Trinity and school's like us statewide are now more affordable than ever!

Thank you,

Kyle Maestri

Read-A-Thon Prize Chapel
May 3rd, 2017
We've reached the end of our Wild About Reading Read-a-Thon!

The students read a total of 193,161 minutes and raised over $28,000 dollars!

Thank you to all of the parents who encouraged your kids to read and get pledges!  And thank you to all of the students who participated so enthusiastically!  Because of your efforts and God's faithfulness, we will be adding some new playground/exercise equipment as well as making room for a new 2nd grade classroom next year.

We will be handing out prizes and watching
Mr. Maestri get SLIMED during chapel on May 3rd!

Don't miss it!

If you still have outstanding pledges, be sure to bring them by the office ASAP.

Praising Father...
... for the incredible gift of adoption! We have over a dozen students attending Trinity that are adopted and we praise Father for the illustration of love, joy, and grace in the union of parents and their children. This union is also an illustration of God's incredibly gift of our adoption as his sons and daughter, which we are reminded of during this Resurrection Season. As it states in Romans 8, "... you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"  The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."
"Fret not yourselves because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act."  Psalm 37:1-5 (ESV)
