KID GOVERNOR CALLS ON CONSTITUENTS TO HOLD COLLECTION DRIVES THIS SPRING

Connecticut's Kid Governor (CKG) SM Jessica Brocksom needs your students' help in fulfilling her three-point platform:  Helping Animals, Those Without a Voice .

Jessica is asking Connecticut schools to hold collection drives this spring to support their local pounds and animal shelters...

"As part of my three-point platform, I am asking YOU to join me in holding collection drives in our schools to support our furry friends in local pounds and shelters because April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Spring is the perfect time to hold a drive," stated CKG Jessica.

A Collection Drive Planning Worksheet, which helps you plan a drive in 8 easy steps, is available at the " Plan a Local Collection Drive" page at CT.KidGovernor.org. Schools that participate will receive a "shout out" on CKG Jessica's Helping Animals, Those Without a Voice blog and CKG social media!

"You're a voice for abused and neglected animals,"said Rep. Urban of CKG Jessica. "Your efforts lead the way for others, your passion for our furry friends may only be surpassed by your kindness to them. We commend your leadership and wish you every success in the future."

Jessica's day at the State Capitol also consisted of meeting with legislative and executive branch leaders, including Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, to discuss protecting animals in Connecticut and taking part in the Animal Therapy Day press conference alongside Rep. Urban & other animal advocates.
