Meet Your Councilmembers: Tera Radloff
We're continuing to feature a Castle Pines Councilmember each month in order to get to know them better.
In April, we sat down with Tera Radloff, who has lived in Castle Pines since early 2003 and represents Ward 1, to learn more about her.
What's your favorite part about living in Castle Pines?
Castle Pines has so much to offer, it's hard to pick just one. Instead, I'll give you my top three:
- The People: We have a tightly-knit community with supportive, active, involved and caring people.
- Location: The City is naturally beautiful and close to wildlife. I love our variety of open space, civic, cultural and recreational venues.
- Heart: Castle Pines has that "small town" feel with "big city" availability.
What 2017 City project are you most excited about?
Two words...economic development. We have so much potential to attract a variety of businesses that enhance our lives, further build community and add financial strength.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love all the outdoor recreation opportunities Colorado has to offer, like walking Lincoln (the Wonder Poodle), running, hiking, snowshoeing and kayaking. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially if it includes exploring new places I've never been to before.
What's one thing people may not know about you?
I'm an extroverted introvert who loves serving my community!

Castle Pines Valley Project Update
In April, residents can expect to see construction begin on four model homes in the Phase 1 section of Castle Pines Valley. Production homes for prospective buyers are expected to follow starting in late spring.
Residents can also expect continued road construction for Lagae Rd. down to Happy Canyon Rd. and an extension of Monarch Blvd. Intersection improvements for Castle Pines Pkwy. and Lagae Rd. are currently being reviewed and once approved and constructed will improve traffic flow and access around American Academy Charter School.

Reserve Elk Ridge Park For Your Next Event
The City of Castle Pines owns and maintains Elk Ridge Park for the benefit of the community. With the exception of the pavilion immediately adjacent to the west of the playground equipment, the pavilions are available for reserved use year-round on a first come first served basis for an hourly rate. Residents of Castle Pines receive a discounted rental rate.
To reserve a pavilion or the field, please complete the appropriate application fee
online and make a payment to the City of Castle Pines via cash, check or credit card. Please note, a 3% convenience fee will be added to all credit card transactions.

Douglas County Assessor Launches New Website
Castle Pines residents have new reasons to visit the
Douglas County Assessor's website. The new, mobile-friendly site puts enhanced mapping, detailed property information, and real estate tools as close as your smartphone or tablet. Explore your neighborhood with interactive maps, and view sales history, value history and characteristics specific to your property as well.
As a homeowner, have you ever wondered where your tax dollars go? With a quick search for your property, view the dollar-for-dollar breakdown of each taxing authority. These tools, and more, are as close as your smart phone and easy to navigate.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day: April 29
Got Drugs? Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Safely dispose of unused or expired prescriptions or over the counter drugs at any of the following Douglas County Locations:
- Lone Tree Police Department: 9220 Kimmer Drive, Lone Tree
- Castle Rock Police Department: 100 Perry Street, Castle Rock
- Douglas County Courthouse: 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock
- DCSO Substation: 9252 Zotos Way, Highlands Ranch
- Parker Police Department:18600 E. Lincoln Meadows Pkwy., Parker
Castle Pines Run Club
Are you a runner hoping to meet other runners in Castle Pines? Then join the Castle Pines Run Club! Beginning in April, the club will meet at Duke's Steakhouse, 363 Village Square, every Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m.. Runs will be 3-5 miles long and runners of all abilities are welcome. Runners will meet back at Duke's
