On Saturday May 6 we welcome you to visit Ontario Shores between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. when we will be conducting tours of the hospital and showing a video presentation. At 2:00 p.m. join us on-set in the lobby for a special live recording of the #Mindvine Podcast where we will announce this year's Imagine Concert lineup.

Ontario Shores Launches Refreshed Website

Ontario Shores is please to announce we have launched the refreshed public website www.ontarioshores.ca.

The website has several new features including:

Family Education Series - Spring Sessions

All families are welcome to attend these six upcoming educational sessions which will provide an opportunity to discuss topics impacting you and your loved ones. The spring sessions are Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. starting April 25th and completing May 30th.

Shayne's Shore Run is Helping to Raise Funds for Transitional Aged Youth

With your help, Shayne's Shore Run is raising funds to support Ontario Shores' Outpatient Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) Clinic. One in five Canadians (80%) will experience some form of mental illness in their lifetime. The onset for most mental illnesses (70%) emerges during the adolescent - young adult years. There is a growing need to increase the awareness and reduce the stigma associated with adolescent and adult mental illnesses, as well as improve the accessibility for treatment for families and individuals seeking the help they need when they need it.

As the Public Health Reporter for the Globe and Mail, Picard is the most prominent health policy writer in Canada and can influence both society and decision-makers by telling stories which focus on areas in healthcare which require attention.

This year, along with celebrating our accomplishments from the past year, we will be unveiling our new Strategic Plan, which will serve as a road map to the organization for years to come.

Additionally, we are proud to announce women's hockey legend Cheryl Pounder will provide keynote remarks.

At the celebration we will also release copies of the 2016/2017 Annual Report, which celebrates recovery and the many people who play a role in that journey.

Those attending the celebration are encouraged to wear their HOPE T-shirt. Shirts will be available for purchase at the event.

Jesse Hirsh Talks Patient Empowerment on #Mindvine Podcast

The 13th episode of the #Mindvine podcast features an interview with Jesse Hirsh, Futurist, Researcher and Public Speaker. Hirsh was a keynote speaker at Ontario Shores' Annual Mental Health Conference in February where he challenged the audience to think differently in regards to how technology can and will influence care, research and patient engagement. In this interview he speaks on the impact today's technology and tomorrow's advancements can and will have on the mental health system and the people accessing it..

Journal of Recovery in Mental Health

Ontario Shores is delighted to announce the launch of the first full issue of the Ontario Shores Journal of Recovery in Mental Health. This is the only journal in the world focused on Recovery in mental health. This issue features papers by authors from five different countries, and thus truly reflects global perspectives in recovery. The lived experience contributions by Brian Rose (Editorial) and Martha Hopkins (cover artwork) are key highlights.
