CSUDH Receives $4 Million Grant from Toyota USA Foundation to Support STEM Education

Toyota USA Foundation and California State University, Dominguez Hills announced today that together they will tackle workforce readiness issues head-on, creating a new Toyota Center for Innovation in STEM Education (Toyota Center) to inspire learning for students from kindergarten through college.

Kenneth Kim (BA '14)
received the Michael McKibbin Outstanding Educator Award from the California Teacher Corps. The award recognizes educators who entered the profession by an "alternative route." He came to teaching after eight years in the military. He is a math teacher Banning High School in Wilmington, California.
Matthew Lieberman (MBA '03)
was the featured speaker at the LA County Economic Development Corporation's Future Forum series on Entertainment: The Convergence of Technology and Media. The series is sponsored by CSU Dominguez Hills. Lieberman is the technology, media, and telecom marketing leader at PwC providing business consulting services to entertainment and media clients locally and globally.
Ben Lowe (BFA '14) won the 2016 Marilyn Horne Song Competition, the nation's premier competition focusing on the art of the song recital hosted by the Music Academy of the West. As the winner, Lowe received the Regina Roney Prize of $4,000, and will take part in a national recital tour in March in Houston, Santa Barbara, Chicago, and New York City.
Joe Richards (MA '10) was named interim superintendent of the Ventura Unified School District. He has been with the school district for nearly 30 years as a longtime business administrator.
John Tracy (BA '76) received Aviation Week's 2017 Philip J. Klass Lifetime Achievement Award. Tracy retired in 2016 as Boeing's chief technologist and senior vice president of engineering.
