E-NEWS | MARCH 2017

I love the picture above for a number of reasons: the absolute concentration on Leona's face as she works to get her arrangements just right, the beauty of the flowers reminding us that spring is here, and the uniqueness of each vase.

This photo could have been taken in a high-end floral boutique, but it was actually snapped at an Envision day program. That's another part I love about this: it shows how our clients have the opportunity to engage in their passions in ways that are inclusive, ensuring that they build skills that will serve them beyond their time spent at Envision. I have complete faith that Leona could run her own workshop to teach us all a thing or two about flower arranging.

Once a year, we get the privilege of telling stories like this to a big group of our supporters at our Bright Futures Ball, which takes place this year on Saturday, April 29th at The Palmer House Hotel in the Loop.  We have an amazing, inspiring evening in store for our guests, and I encourage you to purchase your tickets now.

Happy Spring!

Envision Clients  Out and About in March

The Meal-Sharing Mardi Gras Party at Rose Center was a smashing success!
Envision clients partnered with local chefs to prepare a 4-course New Orleans feast, while client artists created decor and masks to set the festive mood.

Our Foster Parent Advisory Council's Annual Soup & Salad Fest had over 30 people in attendance to break bread and raise funds for Envision's Foster Care Program.

Special thank you to Foster Parent Advisory Board President Audrey Harrington-Dunlap and her husband Willie Dunlap for their tireless support.  And thank you to our youth volunteers from Kenwood Academy for serving the delicious food!

Noemi admired the quilts at the DuSable Museum of African American History during a trip to Hyde Park, which also included a tour of the Smart Museum of Art.

Clients and staff brushed off the chill of winter by visiting the Garfield Park Conservatory, where they enjoyed the lush greenery and botanical beauty within.
Envision Unlimited serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the goal of enhancing their lives and expanding their futures. Our clients are diverse, spanning across all ages, abilities and backgrounds, but one thing they all share is a drive to excel in their work. We believe all individuals, given the right opportunities, are capable of achieving great breakthroughs and leading lives with more meaningful possibilities.
