Your source for all things early childhood

Spring is Coming!

Greetings,

I hope this newsletter finds you savoring the transition to spring! While a short, almost
mythical time of year, the few days of the year where the sun is warm, and the snow is soft, are simply some of the best Vermont has to offer!

Whether skiing, sugaring, or lounging is your thing right now- make the most of it and recharge!

My sincere admiration to you all for being on the front lines of
caring for the families of Rutland County. You are making a big
difference everyday, and impacting the future of our state. We are
better together, and I thank you for being a part of our collective
early care and education system.

Warmest Regards,
Dana Anderson

Vermont Early Childhood News

Raising Awareness about WIC
WIC is a successful public health nutrition program that
provides food and nutrition education for income-eligible
pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants,
and children up to five years old.
The number of families participating in
WIC has decreased in Vermont
and across the country. Often, families  don't realize they are eligible, as eligibility  is more moderate than other assistance
programs.
Help spread the word and support food  security and health for children in our  region. This includes:
  • pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women
  • children birth to age 5
  • children living with caregivers and foster parents are
  • eligible, even if the caregiver income exceeds eligibility
  • limits
