FTA's Transit Safety & Oversight  March Spotlight Newsletter is now available, featuring an article on Employee Safety Reporting as well as a calendar of upcoming instructor-led and online training.

DOT issued an  NPRM     for a possible change to its drug-testing program, adding additional substances to the testing list among other changes.  Comments are due tomorrow, March 24.

Due to a presidential order, the effective date of the FMCSA final rule titled "Minimum Training Requirements for Entry-Level Commercial Motor Vehicle Operators" is now  May 22 , 2017.

APTA released a Who Rides Public Transportation report that summarizes passenger characteristics of U.S. public transit users. Regional surveys were conducted between 2008 and 2015.

Grants and Contests

Are you an innovator in mobility management?  Submit your best practices   to the NCMM's Mobility Management Information Practices contest for a chance to with a Fitbit. The deadline is March 31.

The Corporation for National and Community Service is funding  Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Grants that serve community needs, including Aging in Place and Transportation. Submit your application by  April 4.
