Earth Day : Opportunities to Work & Play!
Lots going on in West County
Earth Day is Saturday, April 22, with several events and activities planned for West County. 

Environmental stewardship is especially vital this year with federal budget threats to the U.S EPA, Climate Change initiatives, and our public lands agencies such as the National Park Service. It's important for us to stand up for our clean air, water, and open spaces.

I hope you'll join me at one of these events.
 
What: Creek cleanup, a rt activities, garden projects, music, dancing, refreshments.
Time:
Cleanup: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; 
Festival: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Where: Clean-up: Verde Elementary School, 2000 Giaramita Street.
Festival: North Richmond Ballfield, Fred Jackson Way and Pittsburg Avenue.

El Cerrito:  Earth Day Celebration Volunteer work projects, free lunch 
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Lunch at noon.

PinolePoint Pinole Regional Shoreline, two events: cleanup and 
Atlas Bridge and Dotson Family Marsh dedications, marking important SF Bay Trail links. 
Time: Cleanup: 8:30 a.m. - noon; Atlas Road Bridge dedication: 10:30 a.m.; Dotson Marsh dedication, 1 p.m.
Where: Cleanup:  meet at Giant Cluster Picnic site at main entrance. Dedications: meet at main parking lot,   5551 Giant Highway, or Atlas Bridge parking lot, end of Atlas Road. (1 mile walk between dedication sites. Shuttle also available.)
