March for Meals in April

Congressman Ro Khanna; State Assemblymember Kansen Chu; Fremont Mayor Lily Mei; Newark Mayor Al Nagy;  reps from Senator Weickowski, Supervisor Haggerty and Supervisor Valle;
Fremont Councilmembers Rick Jones, Raj Salwan, Vinnie Bacon, and David Bonaccorsi; Union City Councilmember Gary Singh, community partners, volunteers, and media.

We are deeply grateful to all . Hearing so many smart leaders express their  support for the value of Meals on Wheels fortifies us. We are again  reminded that if the safety net for our neighborhoods' most vulnerable elders comes under threat, there will be many who immediately stand up together to protect it.

Congressman Khanna and volunteer Rakesh Sharma delivers meal to Kathleen.

"I am very impressed with this small but mighty operation." Kansen Chu

"I am happy to be back home and see our values of  compassion and a sense of social justice and caring for folks." Ro Khanna

Assemblymember Chu and Congressman Khanna - we couldn't have said it better ourselves!

Yes, there is such thing as a free brunch

Fremont Elks Lodge treated participants and volunteers of our Friendly Visitor program to an extravagant brunch at their lodge. Yum! Many of these seniors are usually homebound, so this was an extra special and delicious treat for them.

Thank you, dear Elks, and especially Gini, for your generosity and community spirit.
