Holiday Passport Program Continues Through December 31

Pick up a holiday passport from one of six Kamm's Corners businesses in a novel program to encourage visitors to eat, drink, or shop at their locally-owned establishments. Get your passport stamped each time you patronize a participating business. Passports with four or more stamps are eligible for prize drawings. Special prizes are being offered in a Wellness Drawing for residents who walk or bike to each location and get a wellness sticker. Visit the following participants:

Fireside Candles & More, 15903 West Park Road
Hatfield's Goode Grub, 16700 Lorain Avenue
Only in Clev, 17025 Lorain Avenue
Kamm's Corners Ice Cream Co., 3764 Rocky River Drive
Working Class Brewery, 17448 Lorain Avenue
5 Points Coffee & Tea, 3600 West Park Road

The brainchild of Conor Boylan owner of 5 Points Coffee & Tea in cooperation with KCDC, the passport program runs through December 31. Post your shopping experiences with your holiday passport on social media using #kammspassport or #shopwestpark! Click here for the details.

Model Trains Provide Free Family Fun

Visit Puritas Nursery from now through December 31, to see one of the most elaborate holiday model train displays in the region at no charge! Bigger and better than ever, the variety of locomotives and train cars chug through miniature villages and living vegetation inside the heated greenhouse at 19201 Puritas Avenue. While there, you may select a freshly cut Christmas tree, drilled with the "stay straight" system. The shop also offers a large selection of Christmas cactus, cyclamens, mistletoe, air plants, and poinsettias as well as fresh wreaths, swags, roping, and boughs. For more information and photos from previous year's events, click here.

Free Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides Happen Tonight

Kamms Plaza is once again offering horse-drawn sleigh rides on a first come, first served basis. The rides began last Friday and will run two more Fridays: December 15 and 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. Queue up at the tower corner for a trip around the plaza parking lot. The rides leave nearly every 20 minutes, with the final trip leaving at around 7:40 p.m. Bundle up! (Any ice or rain will cause the rides to stop for the safety and comfort of the horse.) Make a fun memory with loved ones! Be sure to shop or dine at the plaza in appreciation for this treat being provided by the management.

Downtown Merchants Band Together to Buy ATV with Plow to Provide Clear Sidewalks

Property owners in the "downtown" Kamm's Corners area, through the Kamm's Area Special Improvement District, have banded together to buy an ATV with a plow for snow removal on the sidewalks within the district. This will assure that the sidewalks are clear for residents and those wishing to visit the many merchants that are located along Lorain Avenue, as well as Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. Our hats are off to these property owners, especially Kamms Plaza, Kamcor Realty, and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital that provide the lion's share of the funding!
