March has been an eventful month here at ZP, keeping us all hustling and bustling with our exciting busy schedule.
Certainly one of the highlights for us this month was the Special Olympics, which took place here in Woodstock on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It was another exciting and successful weekend, despite the frigid temperatures and everyone had a wonderful time.
Another highlight for many of us, just recently, was our trip to Northern Stage to see "Dear Edwina." What a great performance, an enjoyable show for all ages.
We had a special birthday this month, Erin Norton turned 21!!! We also celebrated Keegan Moriarty's birthday. Two great celebrations that we all shared!
Throughout the month of March, we have continued with many of our same wonderful programs but also added a couple of new ones. We are fortunate to have Vince Ramirez continue with the nutrition program twice a month, a favorite for all of us, but we now have the pleasure of seeing him for a new class "You are the center of the universe." In this class we are learning some simple meditation and relaxation techniques and mindfulness activities that everyone is enjoying. We continue to have fitness with Bari, dancing with Jen and games with Carl. All of these are great cardio work outs, keeping us limber and fit.
We have been doing our weekly Tuesday Yoga with Jamie, Tita, and Lalita which is always awesome and we just added a new Yoga class with Jess Barakat every Thursday which has been great. Yoga is good for our minds and body.
Along with our physical activities, we have enjoyed many educational and creative programs too. We had singing with Kerry each week, music and movement with Mark and Kathleen and we had a stellar performance with Rob and Shelly Parker. We continued our wonderful art classes each week with Marissa, working hard on our greeting card program. We made beautiful bunnies with Lolly and Bonnie and we ventured to Artistree every Monday to make pottery with Fiona. We did awesome experiments for Science class every Wednesday with Corinna and even squeezed in a couple visits to Billings Farm.We read books with Diane, Bettyanne, Anne and Phil.
Somehow among our busy schedule of weekly programs and classes we managed to go Skiing one last time at S6, swimming at UVAC twice, bowling at least once and even a movie or two at Pentangle! WOW, busy, busy, busy, what a month!!!
As we round the corner from March to April, with one last (hopefully) snow storm in the forecast, a reminder to everyone. This year's ZP play will be taking place on Wednesday May 31st at the Town Hall Theater. Mark your calendars now and get ready for the greatest show on earth!! Happy Spring to everyone!
