Lost Earring
is currently on view in the School 33 Project Space, and will be followed by a discussion of the film. Rooted in the tropical underground of Los Angeles nightlife, WILDNESS is a documentary portrait of the Silver Platter, a historic bar in the MacArthur Park area that has been home for Latin/LBGT immigrant communities since 1963. With a magical-realist flourish, the bar itself becomes a character, narrating what happens when a group of young artists create a weekly performance art/dance party called Wildness, which explodes into creativity and conflict.

Our former CEO, Bill Gilmore departed the BOPA family earlier this month to take on a new adventure and we all wish him the very best!
To honor his commitment to the Baltimore creative community, we ask for your support to fund the endowment for the Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize.
Bill was the driving force that established this remarkable prize twelve years ago during Artscape. As part of his legacy to the Sondheim Award, we have established a goal to build the endowment to over $500,000 by raising $100,000 by the end of 2017. This would allow BOPA to draw the full prize each year in perpetuity – sustaining and perhaps even increasing prize monies for the future winners.
