Local High Schools Partner with Chamber

The Chamber is partnering with local high schools and the Kentucky Career Center to find employment for upcoming high school graduates. We are looking for businesses interested in hiring young adults eager to launch their careers and join your team!
Through April, the Kentucky Career Center will help interested students build their resume, brush up on employability skills and explore career opportunities.
In May, students will have opportunities to interview with you! If your organization has entry-level positions and would like to interview these graduates, please register

Fundamental Skills for Manufacturing

Class begins April 26
|
FSM is a 24-hour course designed to equip new hires, underemployed, unemployed and incumbent workers with the necessary skills to be successful in manufacturing-related positions.
The NCRC is included in the FSM curriculum. Upon course completion, students sit for
the NCRC assessment

- April 27 - 8am to 4:30pm
- April 28 - 8am to 4:30pm

With the session now over, South Central Kentucky is celebrating the monumental work of the 2017 General Assembly:
- HB 1 - Passage of statewide Right to Work
- HB 3 - The repeal of state prevailing wage legislation
- HB 184 - Allowing the transportation of overweight/over-dimensional aluminum on Kentucky's roads
- HB 189 - Ensure transparency and accountability in our local area development districts
- SB 1 - Statewide education reform, that includes focus on career ready education, including the calculation of apprenticeships in KEES scholarship decisions

South Central Kentucky Economic Development:
The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has announced two economic development projects totaling $35.4 million in capital i
nvestment and 154 new jobs.
Bowling Green was recently ranked second
in Site Selection magazine's list of high-performing metros among communities with populations less than 200,000 based on total economic development projects for 2016.
