Originally from Morocco, Mohamed has worked hard for the past three years to learn English. He has taken multiple ESL classes and practices whenever possible.
Thanks to you, Mohamed now has a great new opportunity:
applying for U.S. citizenship
.
As part of an English for Citizenship class, Mohamed is preparing for rigorous naturalization testing, including written and spoken components covering American History and government. Mohammed practices answering questions from the citizenship test as well as personal questions about himself, his family, and his time in the United States.
"I come here every week, twice a week. I am learning English citizenship . . . reading, writing, questions. . . I am not ready for the questions," Mohamed says with a laugh. Citizenship may be a big challenge, but he always stays encouraged. He would like to obtain citizenship for many reasons, but the reason that motivates him most is to join his wife as an American citizen.
