UPDATE

DHS NJROTC hosted the 2017 Gwinnett County Drill Meet Saturday, February 25 th. Nine other JROTC units from Gwinnettt County and over 325 cadets participated in this annual event. It was hosted by Duluth HS NJROTC as a result of the unit co-winning the 2016 County Drill Meet held at Parkview HS last March. Duluth HS NJROTC finished second only 90 points behind Collins Hill AFJROTC (4120 - 4030) in an event that consisted of four graded events (Unarmed and Armed Basic Drill, Personnel Inspection, and Color Guard). DHS NJROTC also finished 3 rd in the Physical Training Relay. Special thanks to Mr. Ford, Ms. Doris Sells, Dr, Stephen Fairchild, and Coach Robert Swank for your incredible support. In addition, over fifty NJROTC cadets and twelve parents provided indispensable assistance throughout the day. It was truly a team effort!!

Twenty-two DHS NJROTC cadets provided oversight in support of the All-Star Active Kids Fitness Challenge at Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta Saturday, March 4 th from 10:00 AM through 6:00 PM. . Hundreds of youth from metro-Atlanta took part in this multi-event, athletic challenge designed to focus the importance of physical fitness for today's youth. Cadets were used as starters and monitors at stations throughout the "course" that highlighted crawling, sit-ups, jumping, climbing, push-ups, jumping-jacks, more climbing, and sprinting. The kids had a great time, as did the cadets!!
