Happy New Year!
Hope you do thing this year to energize your creative self both personally and professionally!
Quick update on my personal and professional creativity: I'm starting off the new year energizing my creative expressive spirit by taking two choreography classes, two pole fitness technique classes, an acting class, and acting in a public show. The last time I performed in public was with Precipice Improv in the DC area before moving to Charlottesville, and I've missed the energy of performing for a live audience.
I have, fortunately, had the creative energy of facilitating a lot of live groups - been facilitating creative process for groups of all sizes (from 15 people to 350 - my largest workshop size yet). Last quarter I welcomed NOAA, the Heritage Company, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence among others as new clients, worked with ongoing clients, and continue as adjunct faculty to the Federal Executive Institute, doing monthly
Improv for Leaders workshops with senior gov't executives. It was a busy time creating content for clients, and many of my public offerings got put on hold, but I did lead a second sold-out
Creative, Original Facilitator workshop - fun! - in DC, and hope to do more this year...along with other new programs.
I'm excited to participate in 3 upcoming telesummits - all FREE. The first one is the
Soul Driven Success Summit. You can learn more about it by scrolling down.
As always, scroll down for articles, event, musings, and links. And let me know if you want to get your year off to juicy creative new start. I offer a 30-minute free, no obligation consultation to see if and how I might be able to support your creative life and work. :-)

I'm honored to be mentioned in this article, written by Halelly Azulay. Halelly, a long time Capitol Creativity Network member, interviewed me for her Talent Grow Podcast show a few months back, then attended my recent Creative Facilitator workshop in DC. She wrote the following blog post based on those experiences and interviews with two other applied creativity practitioner, including Gregg Fraley, a presenter at our Creativity in Business conference known to many on our email list. Read the article here.

Every issue I also include some of my own musings in 140 characters or less. These are some of my recently tweeted explorations about creativity and emergence....tweets for thought:.
~ Some mysteries lend to being solved...others to being engaged, not so
much answered.
~ What if "mistakes" were seen as dynamic discovery-iterations rather than static right-
or-wrong's.
~ Stress is often misplaced creative energy looking for purpose and expression.
~ Change-creators throughout history lived in the same world as everyone else - they just did
not buy into the same limitations.
~ The more we cultivate presence, the more we deepen our relationship with the moment,
the more it provides insights, ideas, new solutions.
~ One of creativity's paradoxes: it's both uniquely personal and universally impersonal at
the same time.
~ The difference between the unknown which leads to confusion and the unknown which leads
to emergence is intention with creativity.
~ Creative empowerment come from saying yes before knowing how, not from waiting to
know how before saying yes.
~ One of the gifts of finding your calling is that no one else can "reason" you out of it.
~ The earth doesn't "manage" the tree. It creates conditions for th tree to flourish.
