If you haven't called your state representative yet, please call now --
the deadline is today at 4 p.m. in order to have your state rep's name formally listed as a co-sponsor! 
 

FY 18 HOUSE BUDGET PROPOSES  

CUT TO ABE!

 

- The House Ways and Means Committee released their FY18 budget proposal yesterday and cut the ABE line item.

  

 

- Working with MCAE, Representative Robert Koczera  (D- New Bedford) will file an amendment to increase funding for ABE line item #7035-0002 to $31.5 million.

 
WE NEED YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE TO CO-SPONSOR REP. KOCZERA'S AMENDMENT! 

-  Please call or email your state representative immediately and urge him/her to sign-on as a co-sponsor to Rep. Koczera's amendment.  

-  Ask if you can count on him/her to sign on as a co-sponsor.  If they can't commit immediately, ask when you can call back.

-  Our goal is to have 81 co-sponsors!  The more co-sponsors we have, the better our chance for the amendment to be successful in the budget debate.  

-  To sign-on, your representative should contact Danielle Allard at Rep. Koczera's office, [email protected], 617.722.2800 (ext 8674) by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 when Rep. Koczera will file his amendment. 
 
-  Although representatives can sign-on as co-sponsors up until the amendment is debated on the floor, it will have more impact if your representative signs on by the Wednesday deadline.    
   
-  To find your state representative.

-  Please call your state representative's office today and keep calling until you reach him/her or an aide!

-   Once you've made your call, please contact MCAE Director, Jeff McLynch, to let us know if your representative made a commitment to you to sign onto the amendment as a co-sponsor so we can keep count of our sponsors.
