April 2017 Newsletter
Hi there!

Happy spring! I just have a couple short updates for now, starting with an invitation to join the Creative Courage Telesummit  - online and FREE - starting this month. Scroll down for details.

The Cville Creativity Network will be back in action, after a long hiatus, on May 24th with a juicy-good experiential session on Playback Theater for personal creativity and positive social change in uncertain times. Details to come next month. If you live in or near Charlottesville, join the Meetup for all the latest info., and to meet other locals also interested in applied (and fun!) creativity.

Also, will be doing another full-day workshop from my Creative Facilitation Series in DC on May 27th. This one goes deeper into the "being" aspects of facilitating creative process. Details to come in the May newsletter, but wanted to let you know so, if potentially interested, you can save the date. Others in the series, which first began in 2006, have included Creative Facilitation, Creative Facilitation Using Improv, Whole-Brain Creative Facilitation, and last year's Creative, Original Facilitator. The upcoming one will use the some of the foundations of the others with some new additions. Can't wait to share next month! In the meantime, if you or your organization may want to experience one of the other workshops, email me and let's find a time to explore it. I customize the public workshop for organizations.

Scroll down for articles, event, musings, and links. And let me know if you want to use your creativity to create your unique signature business, product, workshop, or service offering. I offer a 30-minute free, no obligation consultation to see if and how Creative Emergence Business Coaching might be able to support your creative life and work. :-)

Creative Facilitation Train-the-Trainer Workshops
for Organizational Departments or Teams

In addition to the Creative Facilitation series of public workshop I've been offering for many years, I also offer in-house train-the-trainer workshops for leaders, managers, trainers, coaches, and facilitators in organizational departments such as organizational development, training and development, human resources, sales, or marketing - and anyone else who wants to facilitate and generate more creativity from their staff or team. Workshops can be half-day, full-day, 2-days, or shorter ones stretched out over a period of time. They can come with or without additional coaching. How we structure it depends on your unique needs and objectives. The workshops aren't one size fits all - they are all individually customized to maximize learning, engagement, and relevance. Common to all, though, is they are fun, highly experiential, and grounded in your objectives. Call me at 434-995-5077 or email me for more information, or to set up a time to discuss how this might work in your organization.

CreativiTweets Musings

Every issue I also include some of my own musings in 140 characters or less. These are some of my recently tweeted explorations about creativity, improv, and emergence....tweets for thought:

1.  Our souls don't fit into boxed in prescriptions on how to live, be,
and create. It's a creative discovery process.
2.  Creativity is both a means and an end.
3.  Creative courage is not waiting until you have no fear. It's feeling the fear, and creating
what's most alive in you anyway. #creativealiveness
4.  Discovery --> Ownership --> Empowerment. We're more empowered by what we discover
or ourselves than what is told to us.
5.  Difference between the need to be right and the need to be true: the former maintains a
finite world; the latter engages an infinite one.
6.  When you speak from your heart, you find words in the moment your head could not have
     possibly imagined.
7.  Yes-But negates, and maintains status quo. Yes-And generates and creates something
new. It's the And that keeps it generative.
8.  Yes-And takes us from binary thinking, with few workable options, to possibilities thinking,
with many. Choices aren't limited if our thinking is not.
9.  Habitual thinking generates familiar solutions. Non-habitual thinking creates the pathway for
novel and diverse solutions to emerge - often surprising. #emergence
