From Static Text to Digital Next
The Assessment & Curriculum activity has been hard at work completing the set of free digital textbooks for social studies which will be released to districts across the state this fall. They are device neutral, open source, and will cover all of K-12 SS. Come learn about the project, see the progress of the prototypes, and learn how to use it in the classroom! This session will be our first official preview of our HS World History offering.
Hack This Book! Put the "Open" in your MI Open Book
With the MI Open Book project coming to a close, come experience firsthand how to make it the last SS book you'll ever need. Whether you're editing in Microsoft Word or iBooks Author, be prepared to leave knowing exactly how to "Hack this book!" The perfect session for those who are ready to "Open" their books.
"Open" The World of Interactive SS with MI Open Book
It's one thing to have a digital SS text, it's another to teach with it. Learn and explore many different ways of teaching with open resources such as the MI Open Book Project. From getting it into your kids hands to "Opening" up the world - and everything in between. This session will be lead by teachers who have been using the MI Open Book Materials and will be a great session for those who want to figure out how to use it in their classes.
