Dear Sweeny Families,

We are excited to announce that we will be having our first Leadership Day at Sweeny on April 21st. Team Sweeny cordially invites you to join us for "Peace, Love and Leadership" from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m.This exciting event will be capped at 50 guests. We will be showcasing our first official year as a Leader in Me school. Please click here for more details for the event. We hope you are able to join us! Duct Tape Mr. Lockmiller

Beginning Wednesday, March 22nd, PTO will be selling strips of duct tape to tape Mr. Lockmiller to the wall on March 31st during lunchtime. Each strip will cost $1 and you may buy as many as you like.The grade that buys the most tape will receive a special prize from PTO. You have until March 31st to turn your money in.

Kindergarten Screening

On April 6, Sweeny Elementary will have Kindergarten Screening. Kindergarten screening will be held for those children who reside in the Republic School District that will be 5 on or before July 31st.

Screening appointment times are from 8:45 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Please call Miss Leah or Miss Kristi in the office to schedule an appointment.

Please allow 90 minutes to complete the screening. During your child's screening appointment, parents will complete the Kindergarten enrollment paperwork. Please bring the following items:

Child's birth certificate and immunization record
Current proof of residency (utility bill: water, gas, electric; rental agreement, or real estate contract)
Parent picture identification
List of your child's doctors with phone numbers
Emergency contacts with phone numbers

Sweeny Showcase

On April 20th,we will be having our Sweeny Showcase from 5:30-7:00 pm. Throughout the evening, families and friends of K-5 learners will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and participate in activities that are a part of our school curriculum. Also, during this evening, there will be art work from students displayed throughout the building as well as music concerts by K-2 grade students.

Jump Rope for Heart Results

We had 95 of our students participate in collecting donations. They collected $2,832 which saved 56 lives! Awesome job Sweeny Tigers! Thank you to those that were able to donate to the American Heart Association!
