Celebrate the Holidays at Hearthside
Last Opening Prior to Christmas This Saturday, December 16th
December 14, 2017

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas, especially with the snow that fell last Saturday.  While it was pretty, it caused us to have to cancel our candlelight tour that was scheduled for December 9th.  So we pleased to announce that an additional date has been added to our Old Fashioned Christmas tours for this Saturday, December 16th from 4 - 7 p.m.

The  beautiful sounds of the season will be performed on the harp while guests may enjoy a leisurely stroll through all three floors of the house and learn about the traditions of Christmas.  And Santa will be anxious to hear all those last minute requests!  Admission is $10; $5 for ages 10-17; and free to ages 9 and under as well as our members. No reservations are required as it is a self-guided tour.  So come experience some nostalgia and see how beautiful Hearthside looks for the holidays. There are dozens of trees to admire!

Our Gift Shop still has plenty of holiday items and unique gifts to select from.  A great idea for those who have enough "stuff" is to give them a memorable experience.  What better gift than to give the gift of Membership so that they can enjoy Hearthside throughout 2018 for tours and our special programs that bring history to life, all while helping to support our mission of preserving these wonderful buildings. There's no better place for an historical experience than at the Hannaway Blacksmith Shop.  The Shop is open year round every weekend where classes are given in handforging.  Gift Certificates are a unique gift and can be purchased through our website online shop.

If you still can't fit in a visit to Hearthside this weekend, there will be guided tours following Christmas, on both Thursday, December 28th and Saturday, December 30th when we host "Home for the Holidays" tours between 4-7 p.m .  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of Hearthside while enjoying the beautifully decorated house.  And a perfect outing with guests or family members during vacation week.  Just be sure to make a reservation for this one though as space is limited on the tours.  Call 726-0597 or email by clicking here.  Tour times are every half hour with the last one at 6:00 p.m. and last one hour.

Here's hoping you can take some time to enjoy this wondrous season.   All of us at Hearthside appreciate your support and we wish you a very Merry Christmas!

As the most formal room in the house, the music room is elegantly decked out in golds and burgundy.  All the rooms are decorated by volunteers, and this room was decorated by Joyce Leach.                                                          Photo by David Cruz
