Dear

I've been thinking about Christmas gifts. About what makes a gift memorable. It's when we give a gift that shows we know someone's heart. As for myself, I'd rather have just one of those gifts than a huge pile of presents.

One year, Teresa gave me tickets to see TCU play in a bowl game. It was a great gift and a surprise. But it was what came with those tickets that did it for me. She made arrangements for my best friend and college roommate to meet me at the game. She knew exactly what would mean the most to me. Time with an old friend. It was the best gift ever! Can you think of the most memorable gift you have ever received?

Thinking about memorable gifts made me wonder about what God might want for Christmas.  He's already given us the most memorable gift we will ever receive. But what about God? What gift do you think would touch the heart of God? This Sunday I'm preaching on Isaiah 64:1-4, 8-11 a message titled What does God want for Christmas?

Merry Christmas,
David
