Congratulations to Nevada Assemblywoman Daniele Monroe-Moreno, the 2017 Western Legislative Academy Class President!

Selected by fellow class members during the academy, Assemblywoman Monroe-Moreno will act as the representative for all WLA Alumni in 2018. Additionally, she will become a member of the CSG West Executive Committee and assist in the planning of this year's Annual Legislative Training Assembly (ALTA) hosted at the CSG West Annual Meeting.

Education funding is the single biggest budget category in most states. CSG West examines trends in K-12 education spending by western states in recent years.

Policy Academy
CYBERSECURITY AND PRIVACY
Five western legislators joined peers from across the nation in San Francisco November 1-3 to learn about cybersecurity and privacy issues. Both topics have proved salient this year in the wake of security breaches at Equifax, Deloitte and others.
 
The CSG Policy Academy Series provide state leaders with the opportunity to focus on critical policy topics facing the states. Two more policy academies will be held at the CSG National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 14th.
