Three-Year-Old Students Now Eligible
|
|
Students who are three-years-old and enrolled in school are now eligible to select a wardrobe of clothing at Clothes To Kids of Denver. Previously, only students age four and older were eligible.
"
In the years since Clothes To Kids was founded, the number of full and half-day preschool options for three-year-olds in Denver has increased significantly," said Katie Jadwin, Executive Director of Clothes To Kids. "We want to make sure the youngest students from low income families in our community are entering school feeling comfortable, confident and prepared to thrive."
Students in need in the ten county Denver Metro Area who are enrolled in preschool – 12th grade, or working toward a GED (up to 21 years old), can be referred to shop at Clothes To Kids by:
- A representative (employee or volunteer) from a school, human service agency, shelter, hospital or clinic.
- A teacher, administrator, guidance counselor, school psychologist, social worker or volunteer from a school.
- A leader, volunteer or administrator from a family’s place of worship.
Referring a student is easy! Click below for a copy of our referral form and a complete list of our eligibility guidelines:

Volunteer Spotlight: Our "Deal Finders"
|
|
While most items that we offer come from families and individuals, a very special group of volunteer Deal Finders spend hours each week shopping to fill holes in our inventory. In 2016 alone, our Deal Finders bought more than $25,000 worth of items, which is impressive considering the cost per piece is just $1.00 - $3.00! Thank you to Kathy, Nancy D., Marie, Barb, Jenn, Sarah, Nancy V. and Victoria for helping us provide a great selection for ALL of our shoppers!
Help keep our store stocked with our most needed items:
- NEW underwear and socks (kids size XS-adult)
- Shoes that are in good condition and suitable for school. Our most popular styles are athletic shoes (tennis, basketball, running, skate, etc.), slip-ons (i.e. Vans), canvas (i.e. Converse or Toms) flats, boots (all types) and black uniform shoes. Our most needed sizes are for elementary school age children (kids size 10-size 5 youth).
- Warm winter coats (kids size XS-adult)
- Jeans and pants! Girls (4T-18), Boys (4T-20), Young Women (sizes 00-26) and pants/shorts for Young Men (especially waist size 27-36)
- School uniforms for elementary/middle school age kids (pants, dresses, jumpers or skirts in khaki, black, navy or plaid; solid color polo shirts)
For more information about the items we accept, our greatest needs and how to donate clothing, check out our Clothing Donation Guidelines.

From a thank you note sent by a March shopper:
"I am so grateful to all of you and the volunteers who helped us get clothes last week. We just moved here and each of my five kids found everything they needed for their new schools. Thank you for helping me take care of my kids and for clothing them in love, joy and happiness. We rejoice in all of the great works you are doing."
