Starting with the Kickoff Summer Retreat at Shelburne Farms, these twelve teams will be
collaborating with their Institute coach to develop and implement their Farm to School Action Plan throughout the school year:

Vermont Maple in Every School (& a recipe!)
On Valentine's Day, the Vermont State House cafeteria served breakfast to legislators to promote Vermont Maple in Every School. This initiative, a collaboration between VT FEED, Vermont Maple Sugar Makers' Association, and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets, connects schools with county sugarmakers to bring local, pure maple syrup products and education into schools. Our goal: to highlight Vermont's farming heritage and illustrate the idea that every Vermont school should have access to pure, Vermont maple syrup.

Thank You for Making Jr Iron Chef VT's
10th Anniversary a Day to Remember!
Over the past ten years, more than 3,000 Vermont students have been impacted by this statewide culinary competition. School food change takes many players: students, food service, parents, and the community. Jr Iron Chef VT involves all of these people to create a wildly fun and empowering event. Thank you to everyone who celebrated the 10th birthday with us: sponsors, donors, speakers, coaches, judges, volunteers, and (of course) the student chefs!

Stories from Farm to School Awareness Day
On February 8, Farm to School champions gathered at the Vermont State House in Montpelier to advocate for the expansion of Vermont's Farm to School program and raise awareness of the positive impact this movement has on Vermont kids, our health, and the local economy. We gathered some highlights from the day.
