In partnership with
WRHI's Toys for Happiness and The Herald's Empty Stocking Fund, the United Way of York County, SC, continues to collect and distribute toys that provide magical holiday memories for children in York County.
This combined program is titled
Holiday Partners and it provides holiday toys to children ages birth to 14 years of age. Holiday Partners depends on the generosity of the community either through financial or toy donations and/or through volunteering in the toy warehouse. You can be part of providing holiday magic to an underprivileged child in York County through your gift of time or treasure.
Toy donation boxes can be found at United Way of York County, WRHI Radio Station and York County Upper Palmetto YMCA locations. There are many ways to volunteer and donate with Holiday Partners.
During the winter months, UWYC oversees a collaboration with Bethel United Methodist Church's accommodations for homeless men. The Warming Center provides a warm, safe, dry place for 25 men to sleep during the coldest months of the year- November through March when other year-round homeless shelters are filled to capacity.
Beyond monetary contributions, the Men's Warming Center is still in need of volunteers to serve meals and donations of goods for the men. More information can be found on our
website.
You may donate online or by texting SHELTER to 71777.
