You've Got Bragging Rights!

You may have heard that STEM School Highlands Ranch was one of 30 schools in the world selected as a "World-Leading Learner."

A team of school admin joined other education leaders for the Global Learning Network and OECD event in Boston this past week.

From the U.S., Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, Canada and more, school leaders joined together to collaborate and share innovative approaches to education to prepare students for changes in the 21st century. Dr. Penny Eucker was asked to share about our unique industry partnerships. It was a great experience for all and we were proud to represent STEM School Highlands Ranch at the event! PSAT NMSQT Results are In!

PSAT NMSQT score reports have been released and will be sent home with students this week. Congratulations to our STEM students, who scored in the 80th percentile combined English, Reading, Writing, and Math compared to 64% at the district level and 63% at the state level. We also had 15 students who scored in the 99th percentile!

The PSAT NMSQT is considered a "practice" test for the SAT which is a state-mandated test for all HS juniors in Colorado. Juniors will take the SAT on Tuesday, April 10th. We will also give the PSAT 9 to 9th graders and PSAT 10 to 10th graders on April 10th.

Students preparing to take the SAT have been advised on how to link their account with Khan Academy, a free and customized test prep platform. Junior PSAT NMSQT scores are also used to determine student qualification for National Merit recognition and scholarship. A list of resources and links can be found on the State Mandated Testing page of our website.

Volunteering/Donation Opportunities

Literary Magazine Prizes
Our middle school's literary magazine is in its 5th year, and it is also the high school chapter's first year! That means we will need gift cards for prizes! The students are so excited, and their enthusiasm has exploded since we began publishing in March 2014. We need your help to reward those students whose hard work results in well-deserved contest prizes. For each category (fiction, poetry, and art) we give one $25 Visa gift card to the first-place winners. We will be releasing our middle school and high school issues, and so that amounts to 6 cards.
If you could help support these students by donating a $25 Visa card, you would be also helping encourage a creative community here at STEM. Click here to sign up .

Drama and Video Production "props" donations
The production is next week, and we are still in need of a few more props.  Please consider this volunteer opportunity.  To view the sign up sheet,

We have many more opportunities.  Please visit the volunteer page to view them!
