ARCH Pre-Launch Executive Summary

Preparing Management for the ARCH Launch

The launch of ARCH at XYZ should begin with a series of planning meetings with the senior executive team. The purpose of those meetings is to make sure that everyone is on the same page with regards to what ARCH is all about--and what kind of communications will soon be going out to all associates. Specifically, top management needs to fully understand exactly what we'll be asking the associates to do.

After the top executives are comfortable with the approach, another series of information meetings will be conducted with all other managers, supervisors and HR staff. These sessions will be aimed at providing the entire management team with a "heads up" prior to beginning the ARCH launch to all associates.

Only then will it be "time" to launch...
Ready for all Questions.  All managers and supervisors need to be prepared to answer questions they may be asked once the ARCH launch begins with all associates. These preliminary sessions will include a review of the seven ARCH educational messages that will be sent to all associates in the course of the first few weeks.

In order to best prepare all managers and supervisors, the ARCH system should be launched (for them) one week before the rest of the workforce. That way, they will be 2 or 3 messages ahead of the other associates and will be better prepared to answer questions.

Management Only. For a "big picture" vision of what we expect from  ARCH by 4Leaf , the management team may want to visit the  ARCH in a Nutshell page online.   There are many helpful tools at this link for explaining the ARCH concept to others.

Expected Results. Our feeling is that ARCH can play a big role in reducing the cost of healthcare in most organizations by anywhere from 5% to 20% or more within three years. Why the big range? In a word: Leadership.

By genuinely helping all associates better understand the relationship between their food choices, their health and their own cost of healthcare, we are confident that ARCH can produce impressive results. We also believe that, with active participation, promotion and leadership from senior management, the results can be even better.

In the chart below, notice that the USA's per capita cost of healthcare has increased very consistently at an average of about 6% per year from the year 2000 to 2010; almost doubling during that time period. Certainly an actual decline of any amount would be a big win for any organization.

With over 70% of our healthcare costs now being driven by our food choices, we believe that ARCH is capable of producing an actual per person decline year over year. And, the more leadership from top management, the sharper will be the likely decline.

Sincerely,

J. Morris Hicks, CEO
