March Adoption Promotion

We hope everyone stayed safe yesterday on National Alien Abduction Day!  If you had a cat in your home, you were able to prevent any aliens from catching you.  Cats are a natural defense against aliens due to their purr which drives them away.  It's never too late to protect yourself, and we have lots of wonderful kitties, all of whom can help.    Please stop by the shelter and meet our family of felines.  There is a special one waiting just for you.  This month, when you adopt, you can Spin-the-Wheel for a chance at a reduced adoption fee!

Check out the pictures of aliens that tried to invade CCS!  Our cats subdued them all!  Click here.

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides

$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Opt To Adopt Nefi
Nefi is an independent senior looking for her forever home! When you spend time alone with Nefi she will show her softer side. She enjoys attention and pets from her human friends. She likes to spend her day curled up in a soft bed or out on the catio. Nefi does not especially like other cats so she needs to be the queen of the castle.   She does have some

arthritis, and is on an oral supplement daily, and a medication which is injected once a month to help her stay comfortable.

Nefi is part of our Perpet-u-Care program! Please click the link to find out more:

You can read more about Nefi on her adopt-a-pet page:    http://www.adoptapet.com/pet/15769256-lakewood-colorado-cat

The Colfax Marathon
May 20-21, 2017

The Colfax Marathon is May 20-21, 2017
and this year you can support Cat Care Society!

We have a number of enthusiastic runners and walkers already signed up for this year's Colfax Marathon who have selected Cat Care Society as their supporting charity. We still need more-either runners or walkers!  If we can meet the target number of participants,  we will have a booth in the charity partner village.

Don't run? That's ok! If we can get at least 40 people to walk we can still reach the goal and get a booth in the charity partner village
(2 walkers = 1 runner).
There are a variety of distances and routes to pick from.   Please check out the links for more information-there's a choice for everyone!

Call your friends and get a group together and register for the 2017 Colfax Marathon and support Cat Care Society on your registration!
Please don't forget to select Cat Care Society as your charity!

All proceeds from the Colfax Marathon will benefit the shelter cats with food, litter and medical care.

Our Wish List

You might think that all we need at the shelter is food and litter.  However, the list of critical supplies that we use day in and day out is quite long and varied.  Some of the things that are often in short supply are paper plates and paper towels, bleach, dishwasher detergent, and plastic trash bags.  Please click here to view a more extensive list of our needs.
You can purchase these items and bring them in person, or go to our Amazon Wish List to purchase items and have them delivered.  Thank you so much for your generosity.  It greatly helps us to fulfill our mission....to help as many cats as possible have a better life!

Cat Care Society
Video Gallery
It's not yet kitten season, but when the time arrives you will be able to watch our youngsters in the kitten room in real time. We have created the Cat Care Society Video Gallery so that you can stream our young kitties' activity through YouTube and see what they are up to!

It also has links to numerous other fun and interesting cat videos.
Celebrate Earth Day With Cat Care Society

Foster Care Program

Cat Care Society has a Foster Parent program to care for cats in a number of situations.  Cats need foster care for a variety of reasons.  The most common ones are:
  • Kittens too young for adoption
  • Nursing cats with kittens
  • Cats and kittens who need socialization
  • Adoptable cats and kittens who aren't thriving in the shelter
  • Terminally ill cats who need a loving home for hospice care
We are always in need of good foster homes.  Foster parents must be volunteers and go through training sessions before fostering cats. If you are interested in helping in this way, please click the following link for more information.    Foster Care
