Economic Development Summit Recap
Thank you to everyone who attended last Wednesday's Economic Development Summit. It was the largest summit in the 4 year history, with over 170 in attendance. The morning began with a forum of all five declared candidates in the Saint Paul mayor's race.

The nine breakout sessions were recorded by an assigned note taker; the Chamber is compiling the reports and will distribute to attendees. Breakout sessions included topics focused on the Midway, such as on the Snelling-Midway site and the perceptions of the Midway, and were more broad (including Access to Capital and on how to pitch the media).
Kathryn Correia, CEO, HealthEast presented on anchor institutions, and how they can be economic development engines. She also assured the audience the recent news of a merger between HealthEast and Fairview would not interfere with the service provided to the Midway neighborhood and Saint Paul.
The Summit concluded with the luncheon, where Sunrise Banks CEO David Reiling was the keynote speaker. Reiling gave a presentation, followed by an interview with
Finance & Commerce reporter Clare Kennedy.
Congratulations to our Nonprofit of the Month, African Economic Development Solutions/Little Africa.
