March 2017
Hello Habitat Friends,

Welcome to Spring!  I'm so excited for the warm weather and our busy building season.  The volunteer schedule is loaded for our 50 Henry Street build so please pick a few dates to join us and register at the link below.  Our Women Build Week is May 6th-13th this year and we have just a few slots left for the week thanks to so many wonderful organizations including our area realtors and AIM multisport team, and we'll be announcing the date of our Lowe's Women Build clinic soon.  A big thank you to Lowe's for sponsoring Women Build Week!

We have several excellent events coming up including our Dueling Pianos night on April 1st. Click the link below to get your tickets now if you haven't already, as this event will sell out! Thank you to DCU, LCU, Mitrano Waste Removal, EXIT Realty, and Phoenix Park for sponsoring the event.  Our spring breakfast is on May 3rd with Mike Tougias as our speaker, and our new partner family will be there to meet you all as well. We've partnered with 6 Bridges Gallery in Maynard for the Home is Where the Art Is art show, and artists are encouraged to sign up now. I hope you can join us for these events!

We'll be having the first meeting of the Stow Local Project Committee tonight at 7 p.m. at the Randall Library in Stow.  The LPC is a critical part of every build and will be involved in all decisions for our upcoming project on Pine Point.  Please join us if you are able, or email me to get the date and time of our next meeting.

A quick note on local support:  Habitat for Humanity International recently included a letter in the Boston Globe and sent emails requesting support, and  some supporters have mistakenly believed these solicitations were from us. It is important to note that donations to Habitat International do not automatically flow back to our local affiliate but you can request that they come to us. It is wonderful  to support Habitat for Humanity International and our international builds, but if you want your dollars to support our affordable Home Building Program right here in north central MA, please be sure to specify that on the donation or send it directly to our office in Acton.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our work. Together, we empower through Shelter - building strength, stability and self-reliance for our families.  We are grateful to all who support this important local and global mission.
