Do you know someone who's amazing at what they do? The Partnership for Better Health's 2016 Champions for Better Health Awards will recognize distinguished community volunteers, health professionals, business leaders, philanthropists and youth who play vital roles in advancing the health and wellness of our region. Your input is essential. We invite you to nominate local health champions whose efforts make our community a healthier place for everyone to live, learn, work and play. A total of
$2500 in PRIZES
will be awarded to benefit local health charities of the winners' choice.
Save the Date: Champions for Better Health Award Winners will be announced and celebrated at a reception on
Thursday, June 1, 2017, beginning at
5 pm at Dickinson College's Social Hall.

Maximize Community Giving and Improve
Health
During our Match Madness campaign throughout the month of March, your generous donation to 16 participating nonprofits will be matched by the Partnership's stretch funding pool of up to $50,000.
That's right, 100% of your contribution will go directly to the participating charity of your choice, plus that organization will receive a portion of the big match. At the conclusion of the campaign, Partnership for Better Health will increase the impact of your gift by distributing the $50,000 stretch pool to participating nonprofits.

Leading to Success: Developing Supervisory Skills
Tuesday, April 18 from 9 am to 3 pm
Allison Community Room of Dickinson College
Let's face it. Being a good supervisor can be quite challenging and there's always room to grow. This interactive workshop will focus on skills and competencies that are necessary to be successful. Topics include dealing with problem employees, hiring, effective strategies to improve performance, managing vs. coaching and much more.
Instructor: Edwina White, Associate at The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University's School of Business
Registration Fee: $25, includes morning refreshments, lunch and training materials.
Designing Systems Change Strategies to Address the Social Determinants of Health
Co-Sponsored with the Greater Carlisle Project
Wednesday, April 26th from 9:00 am to noon
Allison Community Room of Dickinson College
This training is designed to help health and human service professionals, policymakers and funders better understand the potential roles of systems change strategies in improving the health of individuals and communities. The workshop will examine policies, practices and cross-sector partnerships designed to change a range of systems and have a positive impact on the social determinants of health. Case studies of communities that have addressed the social determinants of health, as well as interactive planning activities, will help attendees leave the workshop with actionable ideas and tools to bring back to their organizations.
