Neighbors dig in to park redesign
Red, green, and yellow stickers, a map, markers, and paper "coins" depicting park elements and activities: with these materials in hand neighbors depicted Portland's King School Park as they would like it to be. The January charrette, facilitated by AWB-Oregon, was one of several events meant to capture ideas and preferences of different groups of park users. Incorporating this community information, the AWB Green King design team aims to produce three draft park plans for neighborhood consideration this summer, says team leader Jon Creighton. To keep up with King School Park redesign activities and other "collaborative environmental projects" in the King neighborhood see the new  Green King website.
