SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Amashia Moyd

What advice do you have for juniors who are beginning their college application journeys?
I advise juniors to visit colleges as much as they need. Then to ask questions not only to admissions staff members but try to get in contact with professors who teach classes in your intended major.

What are you considering as you decide on the college you will attend in the fall?
The biggest factor is finances.  Also, I am researching how strong each college's pre-veterinary program is in order to see how many students enroll in veterinary school after graduation.

What is the first thing you'll do after graduating from high school?
After graduation, I plan on spending the rest of the day with my family. Then I'll be getting ready for college life!
JUNIOR SPOTLIGHT

Natalie Rodriguez

What has been your favorite part about being in high school?
My favorite part of high school would have to be meeting and bonding with new people.

What are you looking forward to in college?
I am mostly looking forward to having different experiences.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I'll probably still be in school in ten years...learning how to be a doctor :)
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Liz Lyons

What degree did you earn?  From which college?
Law degree from Georgetown University

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?  Why?
I would like to be able to be in two places at once. I love to travel and see new things but I also like to be home with my dogs.

What advice would you give a high school senior?
Have confidence in your inner voice.

What is your current/past career?  Describe your career journey.
I am a yoga teacher and also a lawyer. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do and I am still not sure. Life is a long journey with many twists and turns.
