CRPO SPECIAL BULLETIN
REMINDER:
Just over one week remaining until the close of grandparenting
March 21, 2017

Dear CRPO Member or Stakeholder:

This special bulletin is a final reminder about the close of grandparenting coming up on March 31, 2017.

If you are a Member of CRPO or have already submitted an application for registration with CRPO, you may disregard this message. If you know anyone who may benefit from this reminder, please forward this on to them as soon as possible.

Close of Grandparenting

All applicants wishing to pursue the grandparenting route to registration must:
  1. Create an online account on CRPO's Member Management System.
  2. Select and pay for, by bank-to-bank transfer, the Professional Practice & Jurisprudence e-Learning Module in either English or French. As CRPO does not accept credit card payments, Interac e-transfers, PayPal, etc., please allow at least three business days for the transfer payment to clear the banking system. You'll gain access to the Module only after the fee payment has cleared.
    • It is highly recommended that you pay for the Module no later than Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in order to allow enough time for the payment to clear the banking system and then for you to complete the Module.
    • Note: If you don't bank with one of the major domestic banks, the fee payment may take longer to clear.
  3. Successfully complete the Module - this means you must answer all 16 question sets, achieving a score of 65 per cent or more in every set. You'll gain access to the online application under the "Registration" tab only after the Module is complete. Select the grandparenting application and go to the "Invoices" tab to pay the application processing fee, allowing at least three business days for the payment to clear. The payment must clear the banking system before March 31, 2017 to allow time for you to go back to the application and click "Submit".
    • It is highly recommended that you pay the application fee no later than Monday, March 27, 2017 in order to allow enough time for the payment to clear the banking system and for you to complete and submit the application before the March 31st deadline.
    • Note:  You may use the time you are waiting for the payment to clear the banking system to work on the application. That way, your application will be ready or almost ready for you to submit it once the payment has gone through.
  4. Complete the online application - this means you should answer all questions with as much detail as possible so it is clear how your education and training, practice history and clinical experience demonstrate that you meet the minimum requirements for registration, and ensure the three required documents are properly authorized and copies uploaded to your user account. This approach should minimize the need for staff to follow-up for incomplete or additional information.
  5. Go back into the Member Management System and submit the application once the payment has cleared and the application is complete.
All of this needs to be done before 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2017.

Note: All fees paid to CRPO are non-refundable If you don't think you'll have enough time to pay, (including the time allowance for the payment to clear the banking system), complete and submit the application by the March 31st deadline, you should seriously consider not moving forward with this process. Any fees that are paid toward a grandparenting application that is not complete by March 31st will be applied to a regular route application - your fees will not be returned to you.

Given the volume of applications being submitted, we are unable to respond to questions about whether or not your application has been received. You can check this status by logging into your CRPO account, going back to the "Registration" tab and checking the application status indicator on the landing page. The application status will change from "Open" to "Received" once the application has been successfully submitted to CRPO.

No grandparenting applications can be submitted after March 31, 2017.
Please review our website for more information about the  grandparenting route . If you have questions, check out our  Registering with CRPO FAQs . If your question isn't answered there, please contact  [email protected] .
