Regional Women in Politics Symposium Set for April 28
On Friday, April 28, the Fullerton College community is invited to a unique nonpartisan event designed as an open discussion regarding why women remain significantly under-represented in politics at all levels of government and what we can do about it. The Women in Politics Symposium will take from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Fullerton Community Center.

Sociology Club Animal Shelter Collection
The Sociology Club is hosting a collection for new items to donate to a local animal shelter and rescue groups. The collection lasts through March 28. Items needed include collars, leashes, harnesses, dog/cat treats and food, potty pads, toys, blankets, dog beds, grooming supplies, paper towels, laundry detergent, cat litter and boxes, etc. A drop-off box will be located in the 1400 Building, Room 1423-04 or a member of the club can pick up the items on campus. Tobacco Cessation Class
This one-session class is open for students and staff who would like to quit smoking. The session will help create a plan to quit, and participates will receive free patches for attending. District Resolution States Support for Students and Privacy of Student Records
The North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees passed a resolution titled "Support for Students and Privacy of Student Records" at its meeting on March 14. The district resolution "seeks to reassure students and our community that our campuses will remain welcoming places for students of all backgrounds to learn; that no changes have been made with regard to admissions or financial aid; and that financial aid for certain undocumented students is protected by state law." French Film Festival: March 21-24
Fullerton College is proud to present the 8th annual French Film Festival from March 21 to 24 in the FC Campus Theatre. Each night starting at 6:30 p.m., there will be a cultural event for ticket holders offering free food, music, and live performances. Moulin Bistro, Pandor Boulangerie, Les Amis, Porto's Bakery of Buena Park, Choux Creme, La Belle Cuisine, Yves Restaurant and Wine Bar, Bourbon Street Bar and Grill, and Jägerhaus are some of the restaurants participating. Spring Health Fair Set for March 29
Health Services will be on the quad on March 29 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the annual Spring Health Fair. This is Health Services' largest event with more than 20 community organizations coming to campus to share health and wellness information. -wide Integrated Planning Forum
The District Consultation Council has authorized the formation of a workgroup to craft the District Strategic Plan 2017-2020. As a part of the process, the DCC Workgroup is holding three campus forums in order to hear from faculty, staff and students. Input is critical to the success of the District-wide planning efforts. A session will be held at Fullerton College on Tuesday, March 21 from 2-3 p.m. in the 1400 Building, Room 1419. Register on the Staff Development Calendar in MyGateway.

An online pedagogy workshop will be on Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m. in the TEC, Room 800D. On Friday, March 24, there is an autism ally workshop in Room 229 at 9 a.m. and an interpersonal mindful communication workshop in Room 312 at noon.

Women's Track
The Hornets competed in Lancaster at Antelope Valley last Friday with positive results. For this meet, the coaches had only the throwers and jumpers compete with a few of the athletes moving their marks upward.

Softball
It was a busy week for the Hornets playing in five games and winning three. On Monday, FC lost to Saddleback in a heart-breaker 6-5. On Wednesday, they picked up a much-needed 11-2 conference-win at Riverside, and on Friday, Fullerton hosted Golden West winning big 17-0. Saturday had FC at home for a double-header against Grossmont. They won the first game 9-1 and lost the second 6-2.
Up Next: The Hornets will hit the road on Wednesday, March 22 to take on Santa Ana College for another conference game at 3 p.m.
Baseball
It was a rough week for the Hornet baseball squad as they were swept three games to none against OEC rival Riverside City College. The three-game series began on Tuesday with FC falling to the Tigers at home 2-0. On Thursday, Fullerton traveled to Riverside and lost 5-3. It was not FC's day at home on Saturday as they were beaten 13-5.
Up Next: Fullerton will look to pick it up this Tuesday when they host Saddleback College at 2 p.m.
Men's Volleyball
The FC men's volleyball team welcomed OEC rival Golden West College to the Hornets Nest for a Saint Patrick's Day match-up. Fullerton had a green light against a tough Rustler squad beating them in three straight games (25-21, 25-19, 25-22).
Up Next: Fullerton (10-4 overall, 2-0 conference) will play at Orange Coast College for another OEC game on Wednesday, March 22 at 6 p.m.
Women's Tennis
The Hornets lost 8-1 at home to Cypress last Thursday.
Up Next: Fullerton (3-7, 0-6) will travel to Cerritos College on Tuesday, March 21 at 2 p.m.
Men's Tennis
Fullerton lost 8-1 at Cypress last Thursday with Brandon Go winning the only singles match.

The Fullerton College Art Gallery welcomes Abel Alejandre as the 2017 Artist in Residence. Alejandre frequently explores the public and private spheres of masculinity. He has come across no definitive answers, and seeks only to record, and to interpret, a lifetime of observation.
Home Concert
Saturday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Two choirs, Fullerton College Concert Choir and Fullerton College Chamber Singers will perform. The choirs will sing a wonderful variety of different periods of classical music, folk music, and spirituals. Both choirs are looked upon as some of the finest collegiate choirs in the United States.
