I give Matia Farreira credit for this one, not because he is the first one to say it but because of the circumstance in which he said it.
You see, he is a young man who lost both legs as a Marine in Afghanistan and never gave up on his dream of serving. He just became the first double amputee to graduate from the Suffolk County Police Academy and become a police officer. The following link tells his story. Click Here To View.
I saw a similar video on WPTV a few days ago where he stated that the quote is what drove through it all. When asked about the issue of him breaking a leg in pursuit, he joked saying: When I break mine, I can put on an new one. When you break yours, you will be laid up for awhile.
What a positive can do attitude. Most of us will never face the obstacles Matia has faced. Let's not give up on our dreams no matter what our circumstances might be. Where there is a will, there is a way.
